Since the founding of the Hare Krishna/ISKCON cult more than 50 years ago, critics have exposed numerous cases of child abuse, degradation of women, racism, and its well-known fundraising scams. Unknown to many, these practices originated from the doctrines and directives of the cult’s founder, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami.

planetaryeyes: Many thanks for visiting this blog! For the past 18 years, I have written more than 50 essays detailing my experiences as a Hare Krishna devotee from the ages of 14-27.. My only motivation is to spare others the grief I suffered and the aftermath. Here is a bit of advice: Beware of easy fixes in spiritual matters as you would avoid them when planning your finances. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Simply chanting a mantra and worshiping idols and gurus cannot fool the Almighty; neither will donating to build massive temples in India where most of the rural poor lack toilets and clean water. Armed with the sword of truth, in these essays I attempt to reveal the misinformation and methods of indoctrination cults use to suffocate rational thought. Welcome aboard!
